Chrissy Teigen is back on social media after a break of a month. She came back on June 14 to apologize publicly to Courtney Stodden and others whom her tweets have offended in the past.
Chrissy Teigen talked about her tweets that had resurfaced last month after she was accused of cyberbullying by Courtney Stodden. Teigen was slammed because of her horrible old tweets with regards to Courtney. She is now back on social media with a lengthy and new apology on June 14. Teigen wrote that she had been sitting and receiving global punishment and that she deserves it. She was taking a break and thinking about everything she had done. She said not a moment or a day has passed when she has not felt a weight of guilt for everything she had said in her old tweets.
Teigen said her resurfaced tweets were awful and she admitted she was ashamed of these tweets. She said she had issued a public apology to one individual. She had written an apology to Courtney on May 12. However, Chrissy said there are people who are not a few but more, who she also needs to apologize to. She said she is reaching out to these people that she insulted. She understands that these people may not talk to her. She feels she would not want to talk to herself either. However, she said if they want to talk to her, she is here and will listen to whatever they say to her while apologizing through her tears.
Teigen has accepted that there is no excuse for her old tweets. She has accepted that she was showcasing her meanness as edge and casual humor. Teigen feels cringed to her core when she thinks of how she used to make fun of people. Teigen said words lead to consequences and there are actual people behind handles that she spoke about. She said she was not attacking some random bot but hurting women who were girls and had feelings.
Teigen has assured her fans that she is not the same person who tweeted those things. She has since gotten therapy, matured, had kids, been married, received more therapy and more therapy while experiences pain, loss, and life. Teigen truly emphasized on receiving therapy in her apology. She said life was more empathetic and she now understands what motivates trolls. She believes trolls feel gratification instantly when they clap pack and lash out, throw rocks at celebrities and feel invincible. She also understands how it feels to receive this trolling. She said she understood the irony of the situation.
Teigen has promised to continue working to become the best version she could be. She ended her apology by writing she is not asking for forgiveness but tolerance and patience. She is asking to be allowed to own her mistakes and receive the opportunity to change and improve herself.
Chrissy’s apology was accepted by Courtney in May. However, Courtney said Teigen had not reached out to her in private.
