A recent report released by Team Lease gives a greener picture of hiring activity in India. The hiring percent was as low as 11% in the first half of this year. Now the figure shot up to 18%. The reason behind this, experts observed, is the relaxation of restrictions through in step by step approach.
Locations top in hiring
The half-yearly report of the company that covers April – September 2020-21, revealed many interesting aspects about the recruitment pattern in India post unlock 1.0 covering 21 different industries and in 14 major locations of India.
Of all the cities considered, it is Bangalore that showed the greatest increase in hiring, followed by Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Pune.
Industries turning green in hiring
As per the survey, it is the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals that is ranking the first. Then followed the KPO, Ecommerce & Tech Startups, Educational Services, and Telecommunications. The percentage increases shown in the corresponding domains are 21%, 20%, 19%, 17%, and 15% respectively.
Information Technology stands at 6th position with a 15% increase in recruitment while Power and Energy rank tenth on the list with a 10% increase since unlocking 1.0.
Companies keen on strategic growth
Experts believe this COVID crisis gave companies a chance to introspect and re-strategize the way their operations run. They are positive that the changes that are introduced now in the companies would be lasting in the long run.
